Day Job: Technical Program Manager
How do you use Athlete Blood Test:
Yearly Goal: A return to USA Crit racing in 2021!
2022 Calendar: Ironman world championships st George (May 2022), Ironman world championships Kona Hawaii (October 2022)
Hometown: San Ramon, CA
Alma mater: UCLA
Proudest Athletic Achievement: Northern California “Triple Crown” Winner – crit, road race and time trial district champion in 2018
Favorite Hobby: Cooking! Some people see it as a chore, but there’s nothing I find more relaxing than pulling together a homemade meal at the end of the day. I spend a lot of time meal planning, creating and testing new recipes.
My theme song: “Circus” by Britney Spears. Yah, it’s “classic pop” at this point (Britney is timeless, right?), but I think it’s oddly fitting for USA Crits.
Best junk food ever: White Cheddar Popcorn, but only from Indiana Popcorn. Smartfood doesn’t count.
Favorite Recipe(s): So many! On the weekends I always go back to Poulet Provencale (roasted chicken with braised tomatoes) or Gai Lan (Thai-style BBQ chicken). Weeknight favorites include Thai Coconut Curry, BBQ Cowboy Chili and Vietnamese Caramelized Salmon. When I’m on the road, I make a lot of tacos (the answer to every cooking dilemma is always – “put it in a taco”) and bowls. My house is also always stocked with my favorite homemade, post-ride treats – granola bars, brioche stuffed waffles and low-fat cookies. I haven’t written out a lot of these recipes, but if I get a chance I will and send one your way.
Favorite drink of choice : Living close to Napa and Sonoma, I’m partial to California red wines – pinot noir, syrah and blends.
Favorite Podcast: I don’t get the chance to read often, but I listen to a lot of podcasts. My current sport-related favorite is called “The Science of Sport” Podcast.
Favorite Sports Movie: Moneyball – I’m not a baseball fan, but I think the use of data was genius.
What apps or gadgets do you use or recommend? Wahoo ecosystem, form swim goggles, and training peaks
Secret talent: I grew up as a competitive gymnast so I’m still really flexible from all those hours spent stretching at the gym.
Secret Talent #2: I have a “teacher voice” and “teacher handwriting,” so I’m well equipped to handle a group of wily Silicon Valley engineers
